Enhanced Living Solutions, Inc. (ELS) is a family owned company based in Lower Gywnedd, PA, specializing in home modifications for people with disabilities or the aged. We are committed to providing the most practical and innovative accessibility solutions available to accommodate the diverse needs of our clients. Our objective is always the same - to make our client's environments safe, while providing as much independence as possible.
Harry, Altman, Owner, followed in the footsteps of a proud family of skilled carpenters to learn the trade and in 1992 branched out on his own to form AMA Contracting, Inc. providing general contracting and construction management services. While aiding the Greater Philadelphia Area for more than 23 years as a volunteer firefighter he became passionate with a lasting desire to make people's lives safer. Combining his passion and desire to help people overcome barriers to independence and provide the safest living situation as possible with his construction background, Harry founded Enhanced Living Solutions, Inc. in 2014.

Fully one-third of American households have one or more members with some type of disability. As the population of older adults continues to grow, home modifications are a key factor in enabling people to live in the place or home of their choice. In general, people are living longer overall, and a 2010 AARP study found that more than 80% of people older than 50 want to age in their own homes as long as possible. But as we all age, we are more likely to have physical and/or mental disabilities or to have disabilities from birth, disease, or accident. Modifications to the home environment can allow those with disabilities and elderly adults to remain independent in their homes. Home modifications can also benefit consumers of all ages with sensory or movement impairment, or cognitive disorders by supporting the performance of necessary and desired daily activities.
Simply put, home modifications are changes made to adapt living spaces to increase usage, safety, security, and independence. Modifications can range from the simple installation of grab bars in bathrooms, installing outdoor and indoor ramps for doorways, enlarging doorways for wheelchair/walker access, to more involved renovations to kitchens and bathrooms. In the past, many of the modifications available to make a home more accessible were considered unsightly or were thought to diminish the marketability of the home. Tailoring our services to each client's needs, ELS provides innovative solutions to provide a more accessible living environment through a wide range of services from providing a full home safety and accessibility assessment, consulting, design, and coordination with contractors to create barrier-free environments. This may include the installation of ramps, stair and platform lifts, elevators, decks, modification of baths, kitchens, and living space.
